Today (October 26) in 1933, LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin departs Akron for Chicago’s “A Century of Progress” World’s Fair and returns after a brief landing at Chicago.

She remembers the sound of the zeppelin engines and at school, they had to raise funds for the Zeppelin-Eckener-Spende (Zeppelin-Eckener-fund). In 1933 she spent the summer at Lake Constance and visited the airship hanger and airship LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin where the photo was taken.

Fiorenzo Longhi reported on page 22 of the Spring08 issue of the ZEPPELIN POST JOURNAL about the lowest known Greek registration number for zeppelin mail on the 1933 LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin Rome Flight, which is 7025.
The latest Heinrich Köhler auction (Wiesbaden, Tuesday September 15, 2009, 2 p.m.) presents with lot 1959 an even lower number: 7013.
