			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Jim Graue and Allen Klein scored a double-win at the <a href="http://www.sescal.org/" target="_blank">SASCAL 2011</a> exhibition held in Los Angeles, CA on October 14 &#8211; 16, 2011: Jim Graue won the Grand Award in the multiple-frame class with his exhibit <em>German North Atlantic Catapult Airmail 1927 &#8211; 1935</em> while Allen Klein won the Single Frame Grand Award with his exhibit <em>Flown Mail on USS Shenandoah.</em></p>

<p><strong>ZEPPELIN COLLECTORS MEETING AT APS STAMPSHOW, COLUMBUS, OH</strong><br />
We have some updates on the zeppelin collectors meeting at <a href="http://www.stamps.org/StampShow/index.htm" target="_blank">APS StampShow in Columbus, OH</a> on Friday 12 August 2011 at 2 p.m. This is a show and tell so bring along something fun, something puzzling, something purchased at the show, or something with a good story!</p>
<p>The meeting is being led by zeppelin experts Cheryl Ganz and Jim Hill, both are editors of <em>The Zeppelin Collector</em>, the quarterly publication of the Zeppelin Collectors Club. <p>Ben Ramkissoon is rocket mail and Trinidad and Tobago expert, and Jim Graue is famous for his DLH Deutsche Lufthansa studies, his commercial zeppelin mail collection, his research on catapult flights North- and South Atlantic, the study of the 1934 Germany airmail issue and for his wide knowledge on German philately.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On 1 August 1936, the Olympic Games at Berlin, Germany were opened. On that occasion, airship LZ-129 HINDENBURG flew from Frankfurt to Berlin, it was the so called &#8220;Olympic Flight&#8221;. After circling over Berlin Olympic Stadium, the airship dropped the mail loaded at Frankfurt over Berlin Tempelhof airfield and flew back to Frankfurt. This was 75 years ago&#8230;.</p>
<p>The illustrated cover was flown on that Olympic Flight 1936, it was dispatched at Prague, Czechoslovakia and came to Frankfurt where the special German Olympic postage was cancelled. Then the cover was flown by zeppelin to Berlin.</p>
