<p><strong>ZEPPELIN COLLECTORS MEETING AT APS STAMPSHOW, COLUMBUS, OH</strong><br />
We have some updates on the zeppelin collectors meeting at <a href="http://www.stamps.org/StampShow/index.htm" target="_blank">APS StampShow in Columbus, OH</a> on Friday 12 August 2011 at 2 p.m. This is a show and tell so bring along something fun, something puzzling, something purchased at the show, or something with a good story!</p>
<p>The meeting is being led by zeppelin experts Cheryl Ganz and Jim Hill, both are editors of <em>The Zeppelin Collector</em>, the quarterly publication of the Zeppelin Collectors Club. Wir haben einige Neuigkeiten zu dem Treffen der Zeppelinpost-Sammler auf der <a href="http://germanyphilatelicsocietyusa.org/index.html" target="_blank">APS StampShow</a> in Columbus, OH am Freitag, den 12. August 2011 um 14 Uhr. Dies ist ein sogenanntes &#8220;show and tell&#8221;, zu dem man einen lustigen, interessanten, speziellen, einzigartigen oder einen auf der Ausstellung erworbenen Beleg mitbringt.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On the day 100 years ago, on 18 February 1911, a mail bag with approximately 6.000 covers was flown by French  pilot Henri Pequet from Allahabad to Naini, India. This small hop of only five miles made history: It was the first official airmail.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On this day in 1911, the first airmail flight took place. Fred Wiseman flew on a self-made Wisman-Peters plane 15 miles from Petaluma to Santa Rosa, California, USA. The flight took two days with a total flying time of only 15 minutes. Wisman carried three letters, Santa Rosa Press Democrat newspapers and a bag of groceries  from Hickey and Vonsen’s store in Petaluma.</p>
